Functionality

Liquid Compost is, by default, used in various recipes to reproduce certain plants. In "vanilla" use, you can automate the production of the sniffer-related plants - Pitcher Pods and Torchflowers - when combined with Liquid Compost inside of a Mechanical Insolator.^II

Liquid Compost can also be utilised to automate many of the vanilla trees, with the exception, of course, of warped fungus and crimson fungus, of which are instead automated with Molten Liquid Compost.^{Figure II}

Brief History

Originally, there was going to be a fluid called Mystic Liquid Compost added specifically for compatibility with the Hibernal Herbs mod.^III Textures were even made for this feature, but was scrapped in place of simply using pre-existing fluid types.^{Figure IV}

At some point in development, while working on Biomes O' Plenty compatibility, a Blood fluid was added. This fluid isn't used anywhere and was actually intended to just be used by mod/modpack developers to have a pre-existing blood fluid. This feature is likely to be removed seeing as many mods that could use a blood fluid already have a fluid for blood or a similar substance.^{Figure V}
